Ken Hyder began his journalistic career as a junior sub editor in his home town, Dundee, Scotland. He then became a news reporter on the Daily Record, Scotland's biggest national daily, before moving to Fleet Street in London. He has specialised as a reporter and feature writer covering the environment, local government, politics and housing. Since 1987 he has freelanced for a range of newspapers including the Mail on Sunday, Sunday Telegraph, Sunday Express and the Evening Standard. Ken Hyder currently specialises in home affairs, writing about drugs, policing, the security services, corruption and latterly cyber-crime and cyber terrorism. Ken, who lives in London, has also taught journalism for the past 10 years, and is a consultant in Critical Incident Training for senior police officers.

Michael Streeter has worked both as a freelance and in senior editorial roles on newspapers. Michael is a former editorial executive on the Daily Express in London. He was Editor of the Scottish Daily Express in Glasgow and Editor of the Daily Express website. Michael began his career on the Western Daily Press newspaper in Bristol and moved to a Bristol-based news agency before going to Fleet Street. He has been a staff reporter on the Daily Mail, The Independent and the Sunday Express, and a news desk executive on the Daily Mirror and The Independent on Sunday. Now living in France, Michael works as a freelance for a variety of newspapers and magazines, writes books and is also a PR consultant.
